Pepsi Refresh Challenge

United Way CSO needs you!

We have recently been accepted into the running for a $10,000 grant in the Pepsi Refresh Challenge to help support our Youth in Action Venture program.

United Way’s new Youth in Action Venture Program will provide grants of up to $1200 in one-time funding for youth-led social projects that will promote youth involvement and leadership; while creating positive and lasting change in our community.

This program inspires and invests in teams of young people, ages 14-23. Individuals must work with eligible community sponsors to receive the grant, and sponsors must be a registered charity based in or operating in the Central Okanagan. Potential community sponsors will be registered non-profit organizations and schools. The youth will also be mentored by local business people and philanthropists for support and advice regarding their projects.

CASI Osoyoos Working Group

A working group of Osoyoos residents has come together to guide the project. They have compiled a survey designed to gather information about the needs of seniors. The working group members will be distributing the survey to Osoyoos seniors and caregivers over the next week and require the input of as many seniors as possible.
The survey data will be used to identify and prioritize what is needed to help seniors live comfortably in their homes longer. The group will then design a “made-in-Osoyoos” solution for helping seniors that will be rolled out this fall.
