November 16, 2010: BMO Volunteers are painting the offices of the CNIB, and KPMG Volunteers are helping the Hospice Association sort through old files to prepare for their big office move! Great work everyone!!
The United Way Days of Caring Program matches teams of volunteers (from a business, service club or youth group) to non-profit organizations that need help to complete service projects.

The United Way 2010 Campaign is at $544,000 or 39% of our campaign goal of $1.4 million. It’s not too late to get involved in your community, so please consider making YOUR impact through United Way!
Who’s Living United this week in the Central Okanagan? Here are a few highlights:
- - Over 80% of Future Shop employees participated in their United Way Workplace Campaign raising over $13,000.
- - Close to 200 people attended the 2010 Dinner of Distinction to Honour Former Mayor Jim Stuart and recognize Colin & Lois Pritchard for their contributions to the community. This event raised over $65,000.
- - 82% of staff at Farris Vaughan Wills & Murphy LLP participated in their United Way Workplace Campaign raising over $5,400.
- - Over $20,000 was raised through the Government of Canada locations of Service Canada, Canada Revenue Agency & Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
- - CIBC donated $1000 from every branch to United Way as part of their National Customer Appreciation Day to recognize the work of the United Way in each community. $12,000 in total was donated to the United Way of the Central & South Okanagan/Similkameen.
The United Way is working to create better opportunities for all in the Central Okanagan by investing in children, vulnerable adults and seniors in our community. We’re working together with 26 Community Partners to prevent problems from happening in the first place.
